Continued Professional Development for Teachers

In collaboration with The Map Consortium, Workers of Art design and deliver continued professional development opportunities for teachers. These opportunities range from one day conferences to three day residential courses and are each developed to meet the individual requirements of the group with whom are working.

We work with our clients to design and deliver events that explore the practical application of government initiatives or integration of themes such 2012 within subject specific curricula.

Most recently, Workers of Art was commissioned by Kent County Council to deliver a conference that aimed to foster creativity and innovation within teachers of English from early years through to secondary. The aim of the event was to re-affirm the value of creativity and imagination within the teaching of the English language and to provide a forum for teachers through which they could refresh their ideas and take advantage of an opportunity to extend their repertoire of classroom practice.

Workers of Art and The Map Consortium designed and led the day with the poet Lemn Sissay providing an inspirational Key Note speech.
